The Wall Street Journal Counts OMRON Among the Top 50 of the World's 100 Most Sustainably Managed Companies
OMRON was ranked 44th on the list of the world's 100 most sustainably managed companies, the global rankings which were compiled based on research findings by one of the world's leading publishers, The Wall Street Journal. OMRON was also ranked sixth out of the top 10 companies for employee and workplace issues management under the Human-Capital Leaders category.
The Wall Street Journal's team of environment, social, and governance (ESG) research analysts assessed more than 5,500 publicly traded businesses to produce its rankings of the most sustainably managed companies in the world. They looked at sustainability metrics, including business model and innovation, external social and product issues, internal employee and workplace issues, and environment. For Human Capital, they used scores for labor management, health and safety of employees, employee engagement, and diversity to produce a comprehensive evaluation.
This year, the explosive spread of COVID-19 has spotlighted employees' health and safety issues for all global businesses. OMRON is coping with this formidable challenge to great acclaim by proactively introducing work-from-home, flexible schedules, and hourly paid leave systems and encouraging its employees to take paid leave for five consecutive days.
