Founded in 1990 and based in Moscow, RTS has established a good reputation within the Russian electronics industry which will help to further strengthen Omron’s presence in the region and develop its AOI business. During the initial years RTS was actively involved in the bare PCB sector in terms of automation and consumables but has diversified over the years to include SMT production equipment. Today RTS’ 60 plus employees represent and support principles such as Europlacer, Cencorp and Kolb throughout the region.

RTS will distribute Omron’s entire range of AOI solutions. The agreement will enable RTS to develop new customers as well as increase its involvement with a number of existing customers. It plans to bring the AOI range to the market through a series of face-to-face meetings and by exhibiting at key trade shows.

Vitaliy Musin, CEO and one of the founders of RTS, summed up the agreement by saying: “I am delighted RTS has been selected as a distributor partner for Omron’s suite of AOI solutions. I feel that the market opportunities for AOI in Russia are buoyant and that the quality of the Omron solutions, combined with our knowledge of the market, will allow us to exploit this opportunity.” Chris Warren, AOI business manager for Omron Europe, added: “RTS has a good reputation and presence throughout the region which is backed up by a strong engineering and technical support network. There are many synergies between our companies that will allow us to effectively supply and support inspection systems throughout Russia, Byelorussia and Ukraine”.
