I’m pleased to say the signs are that the market is slowly improving. German manufacturers, for example, are increasingly confident, and predicting slight growth. Of course it will not be easy – it calls for hard work and courage to make sure this potential has converted into sales. But we will make it.

AOI helped our own factory to navigate through difficult times
Our own factories were able to navigate successfully through the crisis because years ago we started our focus on Lean Manufacturing, flexible customer-orientated production and good quality control. Those will continue to be our watchwords for future manufacturing.Automated Optical Inspection has played and continues to play a key role. The potential benefits are considerable: less manual work, less waste, higher quality output – and it’s already been shown that they are well within your customers’ grasp. We will be pleased to arrange a visit to our factory in the Netherlands: nothing is so convincing as seeing how it works in reality.

Our AOI focus in 2010 - 2011
In the coming year we will focus on:
- Building our strength in the automotive industry
- Introducing Omron AOI to new geographical markets and …
- Continuing to support the growth of our distribution network
I’m also excited about two new great products that will be introduced in the coming months: the VT-S700 for ultra-fast post-reflow inspection, and the VT-X700 for in-line X-ray inspection. Both of these offer great opportunities for our customers as well as for our business partners and, of course, ourselves.
